KEEPING RESERVE
TRANSIT INTACT
PRT Has Rejected Our Proposal For The 4 (and 7)
We had a meeting with PRT which wasn't easy to get. They ignored the Township office and resident's attempts to reach out for a productive discussion regarding the nearly complete deletion of public bus service to Reserve Township.
In the end it took direct contact from the office of Senator Fontana to secure an audience with someone from PRT who brought their public facing representative into the conversation to do 99% of the talking which consisted of the exact same spiel we've been hearing in the press all along.
During this meeting we were met with the same empty platitudes and circular logic citing years old ridership numbers and obtuse defiance of logic in their ceaseless march toward obfuscation and, ultimately, callous refusal in the form of an intentional misunderstanding of our proposal so as to assign high operating cost where it would not be applicable.
They were never going to take our proposal seriously and stood firm on the plan they already had in place.

What Happens Now?
They will continue implementing their plans as is.
Beginning next year, around Spring 2026, bus service to Reserve township will be almost completely eliminated.
The #4 bus will no longer service our community.
The #7 bus will only go as far as the Spring Garden Park & Ride.
That's it. Sell your house, move or buy a good bike because you will not have a bus to ride this time next year.

So What's Our Plan?
Township residents, management, commissioners, and county commissioners are aware and are actively working with PRT to retain service for Reserve. Rep. Lindsay Powerll is also in the loop. A well planned counterproposal is being developed to present as alternatives to PRT’s Bus Line Refresh to reduce the impact as much as possible.
A few voices, no matter how well positioned, won’t be enough.
We are nearing the end of a critical stage for public comment on proposed changes. You can help yourself and your neighbors prevent this loss of vital service by submitting the surveys provided by PRT.
Our current working vision would be a route that reduces the two proposed routes, D4 and D4 to one route that combines the two into a single route that loops Mt Troy Rd and Spring Garden Ave. Under this umbrella route, most service would be retained to Reserve. Ivor Ave and the Ramage Rd loop would regrettably lose service. As things stand, this looks to be the only fiscally viable solution considering the budget constraints that threaten our continued service.
